The Art of Personal Imagery, Expressing Your Life Through Collage
By Corey Moortgat Item No. #Z0937
Price: $22.99

Quantity:

In The Art of Personal Imagery, author Corey Moortgat introduces you to a new approach to collage, one that blends traditional collage techniques, such as the use of symbolic images and words, with typical methods of chronicling life events, such as journaling and scrapbooking. The result is innovative, fresh and meaningful collage that uses modern photos as well as vintage images, personal writing as well as words from antique books, to commemorate everything from special occasions to extraordinary everydays. With step-by-step instructions and photos for countless techniques and 9 intensive projects, Moortgat teaches readers the secrets behind the distinctive multi-layered look of her collage. Through a wide variety collage surfaces (including wood, vinyl, fabric, foam core, corrugated cardboard and more), you will explore your own personal symbols and icons and experiment with new ways to express yourself through art.

About the Author

Corey Moortgat works primarily in collage, with her favorite subjects being personal imagery, old photographs, nudes, any vintage papers she can find, and most recently, her newest muses: her son, Riley, and her second baby on the way. Her work has been featured in Somerset Studio, Artitude Zine, and the books StampArtistry, Frame It!, Kaleidoscope and Artist Trading Cards Workshop. She has taught many small classes at local art supply stores and at ArtFest.
